CliqueQ ("the app," "we") is a social app for sharing TV and movie recommendations with friends. This policy explains what information CliqueQ collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, a username, a display name, and a password (stored in hashed form — we never see or store your plain password).
Content you create. Your watchlist, favorites, watch statuses, episode progress, ratings, recommendations you send (including optional notes), your friend connections, and the streaming services you tell us you subscribe to.
Device information. If you enable notifications, we store a push notification token for your device. We do not collect your location or browsing history.
Contact matching (optional). If you choose to use Find From Contacts, the email addresses and phone numbers in your address book are hashed on your device using SHA-256, and only those irreversible hashes are compared against CliqueQ accounts to find friends you already know. Your raw contacts never leave your phone, and neither the contacts nor their hashes are stored on our servers. If you never tap Find From Contacts, your contacts are never accessed at all.
Your phone number (optional). You can add your own phone number so friends who have it in their contacts can find you. We store only an irreversible SHA-256 hash of the number — never the number itself — and it is used solely for friend discovery. You can skip this entirely.
Blocking and reports. If you block a user, we store that block so we can keep them hidden from you. If you report a user, we store the report (who was reported and the reason you selected) so we can review it and act on violations.
What we do NOT collect. CliqueQ has no access to your accounts on Netflix, Hulu, Max, Disney+, or any other streaming service. We cannot see what you watch there. Watch statuses and episode progress in CliqueQ are only what you enter yourself.
Information is used solely to operate CliqueQ's features: showing your lists, delivering recommendations between friends, calculating friend scores from ratings, displaying friend activity to your accepted friends, and sending notifications you've enabled.
Your watch activity, lists, and ratings are visible only to friends you have accepted. Recommendations are visible only to the sender and recipient. Nothing is public.
We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising of any kind.
CliqueQ is built on service providers that process data on our behalf:
Title lookups sent to these services are not linked to your identity. When you tap a link into a streaming service, that service's own privacy policy applies from that point.
Your data is retained while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible, removing your profile, lists, ratings, friendships, recommendations, and push tokens.
CliqueQ is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes materially, we will note the new date above and communicate the change in the app.
